Client Information
Configuration 0x00, client → server.
config · 0x00 · serverbound (client → server)
Client settings sent at the start of configuration and again whenever they change: locale, view distance, chat mode and colors, displayed skin parts, main hand, text filtering, server listing, and particle status. The server stores these to tailor chunk sending, chat, and skin rendering.
Sent by the client, read by the server. Listen for it with client.on("ClientInformation", (data) => …) on the receiving side.

Send it
// Client side, after entering the configuration state.
await client.sendPacket("ClientInformation", {
locale: "en_us",
viewDistance: 10,
chatFlags: 0, // 0 = enabled, 1 = commands only, 2 = hidden
chatColors: true,
skinParts: 0x7f, // all seven skin layers
mainHand: 1, // 0 = left, 1 = right
enableTextFiltering: false,
enableServerListing: true,
particleStatus: "all", // all, decreased, or minimal
});
Send this once when configuration begins and again if the settings change. viewDistance is the client’s requested chunk radius; the server may enforce a smaller value.
Field aliases listed under Notes are accepted as alternative keys when writing.
