title: Set Title Text
description: "Play 0x72, server → client."
---

`play` · `0x72` · **clientbound** (server → client)

Shows a large title in the middle of the screen. The server sends it for `/title ... title`. Showing a title also displays any pending subtitle using the timing from `SetTitlesAnimation`.

Sent by the server, read by the client. Listen for it with `client.on("SetTitleText", (data) => …)` on the receiving side.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `text` | NBT |  |

## Send it

```ts
await client.sendPacket("SetTitlesAnimation", { fadeIn: 10, stay: 70, fadeOut: 20 });
await client.sendPacket("SetSubtitleText", { text: { text: "Have fun", color: "gray" } });
await client.sendPacket("SetTitleText", { text: { text: "Welcome", color: "gold", bold: true } });
```

`SetTitleText` is what shows the title; send the subtitle and timings first. Times are in ticks. `ClearTitles` hides it early.

Field aliases listed under Notes are accepted as alternative keys when writing.
