title: Pong
description: "Play 0x2D, client → server."
---

`play` · `0x2D` · **serverbound** (client → server)

Response to a clientbound `Ping` in the play state. `id` echoes the ping id. Vanilla servers use it for tick synchronization checks (for example when inventory transactions need ordering); it is not the keep-alive.

Sent by the client, read by the server. Listen for it with `client.on("Pong", (data) => …)` on the receiving side.
