title: Ping Request
description: "Play 0x26, client → server."
---

`play` · `0x26` · **serverbound** (client → server)

Ping in the play state. `id` is an arbitrary client value, usually a timestamp. The server must reply with `PongResponse` echoing the same id. Not related to keep-alive.

Sent by the client, read by the server. Listen for it with `client.on("PingRequest", (data) => …)` on the receiving side.
